FIXING SYSTEMS

FIX BLOCK 1

FIX BLOCK

Special fixing device made of reinforced nylon with an EPDM suction-cup gasket.
A proprietary Poliform Lucernari invention developed to overcome and resolve the issues associated with traditional clamp (grip) fixing systems.

The holding impact generates greater pressure on the surface: each fixing point withstands a pull-out force of 300 kg. The design of the suction-cup gasket ensures exceptional airtightness, creating both internal and external sealing. The skylight remains firmly anchored to the support, so any overturning does not cause displacement of the dome.

The contact between the EPDM suction cup and the dome surface provides elasticity, accommodating the normal thermal expansion of polycarbonate. Installation is quick and easy, also allowing for positional adjustments.
The nickel-plated steel screw is always protected from weather exposure, as it is housed internally.

MORSETTO 1

CLAMP

Aluminum bracket with contoured shaping.
It originated in the 1970s to address the frequent breakage issues of skylights at the time, which were made exclusively of PMMA (plexiglass), a highly fragile material.

In the 1980s–1990s, the use of polycarbonate for skylights became widespread—a material with high impact resistance—and fixing systems began to be made using screw fastening. Clamp fixing is a point fixing system, meaning it impacts the support surface only over the thickness used (usually about 2 cm). The pull-out resistance (wind) does not exceed 100 kg and, when used for ENFC, it can sometimes cause the dome to shift during opening, requiring repositioning after closing.

This issue affects several types of clamps available on the market; even if the clamp design varies, the problem remains. In addition to these sensitivities, it should be noted that installation time is more than twice as long compared to screw-based fixing systems.
